Maintenance Mechanic
MAINTENANCE MECHANIC DETAILS
3rd Shift|
Location: Louisville, KY
About the Maintenance Mechanic role
– Conducts machine setup, repairs, troubleshoots, preventative maintenance services, progressive maintenance parts replacements, monitors maintains, modifies, and changeovers for production line equipment.
– Prepares & sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
– Provides emergency/ unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service, and performs progressive maintenance part(s) replacement at scheduled intervals.
– Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service by the R.C. Bigelow Progressive Maintenance Program.
– Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packing and production machinery.
– Provide daily reports of all maintenance activities through maintenance log and/or EAM work orders.
– Ensure that all production and packing equipment produce products within established Q.A. standards and conduct all assigned quality monitoring functions.
– Follow R.C. Bigelow’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
– Comply with R.C. Bigelow’s Safety and Health Rules.
– Operates production equipment and supports equipment as necessary to support production demands.
– Utilizes EAM or other CMMS systems to control parts used, and to generate work orders and preventative maintenance accurately.

Job Requirements
– Resume/ Interview
– Mechanic will be expected to pass the Standard Timing Model test (SMT).
– Previous work experience or demonstrated aptitude in packing line mechanical equipment repair or equivalent combination of training and experience in a related field.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate necessary information to applicable personnel.
– Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
– Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
– Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all common units of measure and use common measuring tools.
– Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. – Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
– Ability to travel to other R.C. Bigelow production facilities and/ or OEM production facilities for support and/ or training purposes as needed.
– Be able to consistently stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, touch, or feel, reach, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to lift to 50 lbs as needed.
– Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
– The employee will be regularly exposed to fumes and frequently exposed to airborne particles. They will also be exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, and on occasion, outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
