Job Description

Responsible for employee benefit administration for a 1300 employee Japanese owned tier one automotive supplier with two facilities. Benefits Administration: Oversee the design and administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits. Manage the open enrollment process, including communication, employee education, and enrollment tracking. Coordinate with payroll any changes or exceptions as they apply to employee selections and deductions. Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure data integrity in company payroll or benefit software to ensure correct information and selection. Report benefit use and costs on a monthly basis. Make annual benefit budget proposal. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, FMLA) related to employee benefits. Test employees as necessary based on company guidelines. Prepare and submit necessary reports, including 5500s, to regulatory agencies. Lead annual audits and compliance testing. Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries. Conduct benefit orientations for new employees and provide ongoing education to existing employees. Resolve benefit-related issues and assist employees in understanding their options. Manage company leave program. Develop and distribute benefits communication materials, including newsletters, emails, and presentations. Vendor Management: Collaborate with benefit plan providers, brokers, and carriers to optimize benefit offerings and ensure smooth operations. Evaluate and negotiate contracts with benefit vendors, as needed. Monitor vendor performance and escalate issues when necessary. Experience and skill: · Required minimum two years of experience in benefit design administration, leave management, or a related HR role. · Required use of benefit software such as Paycor, ADP, Zenefits or related. · Experience to design and manage a corporate wellness program. Experience to build survey of benefit comparison and cost and advise company of competitive position, cost trends and usage.
