Tractor operator DETAILS 1st shift Location: SAINT CHARLES, MO About the Tractor operator role – Manipulates controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions. – Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism. Inspects equipment for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions and completes daily shift report. – Performs visual inspection including taking samples, recording raw material characteristics, and receiving documentation. – Communicates with management on inventory and raw material selection. – Responsible for housekeeping in and around operational area. – Assist maintenance in proper upkeep of crane and fills out maintenance work orders as necessary. – Daily inspection of lifting devices (chains, hooks, slings, wire rope) to ensure fitness of purpose. – Utilize a small JCB telehandler to material handling steel plate, pallets, and equipment. – Utilize cutting torches, plasma cutters, and welding equipment. – Utilize various hand tools and equipment. – Perform other various tasks within the manufacturing process of steel pipe.
