Job Description
Crown Staffing is urgently hiring for a Shipping Clerk.
Shipping Clerk Job Details
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Location: Columbus, OH
Shipping Clerk Requirements/Qualifications
- Previous shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Experience with shipping software or ERP systems preferred.
- Experience using RF scanners preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Forklift certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and handle products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain physically active throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately verify orders and shipping documentation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a warehouse team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality required.
- Ability to follow established warehouse and safety procedures.
About the Shipping Clerk Role
As a Shipping Clerk, your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments.
- Pick, pack, and label customer orders for shipment.
- Verify shipment contents against customer orders to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers.
- Generate and maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.
- Track outgoing shipments and assist with resolving delivery discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Organize and stage completed orders for shipment.
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and stock organization.
- Communicate shipping updates and order information with internal teams.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized shipping and staging areas.
- Follow established shipping, warehouse, and safety procedures.
- Assist with additional warehouse and logistics duties as assigned.
