CNC Lathe Machinist Job Details
Pay Rate: $25.00–$35.00/hr

CNC Lathe Machinist Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous CNC lathe machining experience required.
- Experience setting up and operating horizontal CNC lathes.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, GD&T, gauges, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of machining operations including turning, reaming, boring, facing, and threading.
- Ability to maintain close tolerances and specified surface finishes.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills, including calculations involving decimals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Dependable with reliable attendance.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with coworkers and leadership.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, sit, stoop, and kneel as required.
- Ability to work required overtime during peak production periods.
About the CNC Lathe Machinist Role
As a CNC Lathe Machinist, your responsibilities will include:
- Produce precision components according to company specifications and customer requirements.
- Manufacture aircraft wheel and brake components, aerospace fasteners, fuse plugs, and other critical flight hardware.
- Set up and operate horizontal CNC lathes.
- Determine the machining steps required to complete finished products.
- Perform turning, reaming, boring, facing, threading, and other machining operations.
- Follow job routers and blueprints to determine machining requirements, tooling, and sequence of operations.
- Maintain required tolerances and surface finishes.
- Inspect completed parts to verify dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications.
- Use precision measuring equipment to maintain aerospace quality standards.
- Operate additional machinery as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and production area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Maintain established quality and productivity standards.
- Perform additional machining and production duties as assigned.
