Job Description

Overall Responsibilities:
Responsible for the safe operation of the bundling equipment.
Produce high quality products efficiently and consistently.
Responsible to always be professional and work with the crew as a team.
Responsible for the overall quality of materials to assure they meet manufacturing quality standards and conform to customer specifications.
Maintain open communications with the crew regarding the equipment operations and quality of materials.
Maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment.

Specific Duties:
Setup and operate the equipment safely.
Setup and operate the equipment quickly and accurately, minimizing the time between production runs while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.
Produce cartons exactly to the customer specification and ensure all special manufacturing instructions required by the customer are followed.
Monitor closely the quality of the cartons during production. Conduct quality checks as outlined by the Quality Guidelines.
Maintain open communications with the crew regarding all aspects of the equipment. Discuss any equipment concerns or maintenance issues.
Make recommendations to the operator and supervisor to improve safety, quality, and efficiencies.
Always maintain a clean, safe and organized working environment. Leave the working area clean and organized at the end of each shift; make certain scrap is baled daily.
Make certain all working materials have a defined storage location to reduce clutter.

Certification Requirements:
Read and interpret customer specifications.
Identify corrugate defects as specified on the Corrugate Quality Guidelines. Notify crew of any questionable corrugate quality.
Setup and make appropriate adjustments to the in-line banding unit.
Identify manufacturing quality defects as specified on the Quality Guideline. Notify crew of any questionable manufacturing quality or defects.
Determine required top and bottom sheet configurations to meet customer requirements.
Stack cartons and bundles in the required stacking pattern to meet customer requirements. Determine appropriate stacking patterns and pallet configurations if not specified on the customer specification.
Determine load ticket requirements as specified by the customer.
Properly operate the baler and hogger equipment. Must meet certification requirements for the Baler Operator.
Properly and thoroughly clean the equipment daily.
