Schedule Information
- Night shift
- 6:30 PM–6:30 AM
- 13-week assignment
Emergency Department RN Requirements
- Active Kentucky RN license or qualifying multistate compact license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Minimum of two years of recent Emergency Department and acute-care nursing experience
- Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
- Experience administering medications, IV fluids, and emergency treatments
- Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Experience assisting with emergency and lifesaving procedures
- Strong clinical-documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills
- Ability to satisfy all facility credentialing requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct Emergency Department nursing care during the night shift.
- Perform rapid and ongoing patient assessments.
- Triage and prioritize patients according to clinical acuity.
- Monitor vital signs and changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed treatments.
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with emergency and lifesaving procedures.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and procedures.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Educate patients and families regarding care, treatment, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Follow patient-safety, infection-control, and Emergency Department procedures.
- Perform additional nursing duties as assigned.
