About the Robot Weld Technician I Role
Crown Staffing is seeking a skilled Robot Weld Technician I to support robotic welding operations at a manufacturing facility in Shelbyville, KY. This position is responsible for assisting with the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of robotic welding equipment while supporting production teams and improving manufacturing processes.
This is a great opportunity for someone with welding or manufacturing experience who enjoys working with automation and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot robotic welding equipment
- Perform basic robotic programming, including modifying position points and arc start files
- Adjust fixtures and tooling, including datum adjustments and sensor replacements
- Support welding operations and maintain welding qualifications
- Perform preventative maintenance on robotic welding equipment and components
- Train operators, welders, and inspectors on proper equipment use and procedures
- Assist Maintenance and Engineering teams with troubleshooting equipment and process issues
- Provide technical support to production teams as needed
- Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, and Maintenance departments
- Assist with installation or relocation of equipment when required
- Complete production reports and required documentation
- Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Evaluate welding supplies and consumables to help improve cost and quality
- Maintain proper consumable inventory levels
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures
- Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized work area
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of manufacturing or welding experience preferred
- Experience with robotics, jigs, fixtures, or gas metal arc welding is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical documentation
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
