Material Handler Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three to five years of warehouse or material-handling experience preferred
- Experience using RF barcode scanners preferred
- One to three years of forklift experience
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified
- Experience with shipping, receiving, staging, and inventory control
- Strong attention to order and inventory accuracy
- Ability to follow customer-specific shipping instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a warehouse team
- Commitment to food-safety, GMP, and warehouse-safety procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Move finished goods from the production line to assigned warehouse or trailer locations.
- Stage and load outbound shipments.
- Unload inbound raw materials and finished products.
- Pull customer orders using the dcLINK system.
- Complete customer-specific requirements, including relabeling, rewrapping, restacking, and adding pallet hangers or labels.
- Verify customer codes and review order notes before shipment.
- Load and unload trucks and inspect trailers before loading.
- Inspect incoming products for damage and complete the required receiving paperwork.
- Scan finished goods, location changes, shipment stages, and outbound shipments accurately in dcLINK.
- Verify that all components of each sales order are present before shipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records.
- Protect warehouse products against damage or loss.
- Report missing or damaged products to the Warehouse Manager or Shipping Coordinator.
- Maintain the facility’s Food Safety Program and GMP requirements.
- Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned.
