About the Logistics Lead Role
Crown Staffing is hiring a Logistics Lead to oversee material flow at a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility. This role coordinates receiving, storage, sequencing, production delivery, and outbound logistics to keep materials moving accurately and on time.
Logistics Lead Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
- At least three years of logistics, warehouse, supply chain, or manufacturing experience
- Automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier experience strongly preferred
- Previous team lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Kanban, just-in-time (JIT), just-in-sequence (JIS), and continuous improvement
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily inbound, internal, and outbound logistics operations.
- Coordinate material flow from receiving and storage through production delivery.
- Ensure production lines receive the correct parts in the required quantities and at the required times.
- Oversee material staging, sequencing, line-side delivery, and replenishment.
- Work with suppliers, carriers, production, quality, purchasing, and customer-service teams to resolve logistics issues.
- Monitor delivery schedules and respond to shortages, delays, and transportation concerns.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
- Adjust material-flow priorities when production schedules or demand change.
- Track performance measures such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, shortages, premium freight, productivity, and safety.
- Lead, train, and support logistics and warehouse associates.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in ERP and warehouse management systems.
- Support production launches, engineering changes, and customer requirements.
- Identify ways to reduce transportation, inventory, handling, and storage costs.
- Participate in Lean, 5S, Kanban, and other continuous-improvement efforts.
- Follow automotive quality standards and company safety procedures.
