Heavy Highway Construction Surveyor Job Details
Pay Rate: $20.00–$35.00/hr (Based on Experience)
Schedule: 5–6 days per week, 8–12 hour shifts
Location: Florence, Kentucky

Requirements of the Heavy Highway Construction Surveyor
- 3+ years of experience with jobsite layout staking
- Associate degree in Surveying or related field preferred
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
- Experience using GPS and robotic surveying technologies, methods, and software
- Proficiency with Trimble construction layout software and equipment preferred
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as project demands require
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities of the Heavy Highway Construction Surveyor
- Read and interpret construction blueprints and specifications
- Perform layout staking for curbs, structures, drainage systems, basins, utilities, and pavement edges
- Calculate grades and elevations for construction projects
- Conduct existing condition and site surveys
- Assist with gathering as-built (record survey) data
- Establish GPS and UTS control points and calibrations for field operations
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot GPS/UTS equipment and machine control systems
- Resolve technical issues related to surveying equipment and field operations
- Train and assist field personnel on GPS and surveying technology
- Work closely with field crews and office personnel to ensure project accuracy and efficiency
