Job Description
Quality Sorter – 1st Shift
Bowling Green, KY
Pay: $15.00/hour
Pay: $15.00/hour
Schedule Information
- 5:00 AM–1:30 PM
Quality Sorter Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience inspecting products with calipers or other quality-assurance tools preferred
- Ability to identify product defects and out-of-spec measurements
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to complete production and quality reports accurately
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and evaluate multiple variables
- Ability to interpret written, verbal, diagram-based, and scheduled instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Positive and professional attitude toward coworkers and supervisors
- Ability to follow all safety procedures, SOPs, and work instructions
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect mechanical forging products according to customer quality specifications.
- Inspect forged parts for defects and out-of-spec measurements.
- Use calipers and other measurement tools to verify product quality.
- Inspect products for defects before packaging.
- Record inspection results, measurements, and quality data accurately.
- Report nonconforming materials and inspection results to leadership.
- Follow established SOPs and work instructions without deviation.
- Use the “Stop, Call, Wait” procedure when standard instructions cannot be followed.
- Follow directions from shift leaders, foremen, supervisors, and managers.
- Maintain required production reports and quality checks.
- Follow established priorities to support production schedules.
- Report safety and quality concerns to a supervisor promptly.
- Wear required PPE and follow all workplace-safety procedures.
- Work effectively with production operators, quality-control staff, and inspection personnel.
- Suggest improvements that may support safety, quality, and productivity.
- Meet established performance and quality goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
