Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join a growing team. This role is responsible for managing existing client relationships while actively generating new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable with both inside and outside sales, and thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing B2B clients
- Generate new business through cold calling, emailing, networking, and in-person visits
- Re-engage existing clients who have had low order activity
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities
- Manage accounts and track sales activity using CRM tools (Salesforce or similar preferred)
- Negotiate pricing and close sales while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal teams to support client needs and promotions
- Attend networking events and industry functions to grow market presence
- Occasionally deliver products to clients as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in outside sales, B2B sales, or account management preferred
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently
- Comfortable with cold outreach and face-to-face client interaction
- Basic CRM experience preferred (Salesforce or similar; not required)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Compensation & Incentives
- $20/hour base pay + commission
- Year 1: 25% commission on new business generated
- Year 2: 10% commission on retained accounts
- Average order size: ~$500
Territory & Work Environment
- Local travel within a ~10-mile radius of Columbus (primarily around I-270)
- Mix of in-office, remote (based on experience), and field work
- Frequent in-person client visits and networking events
