Job Description

OVERVIEW:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations while driving
safety, quality, delivery, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the shop. This role is
not simply responsible for managing people — it is responsible for owning outcomes.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who leads from the floor, communicates openly and honestly,
and works cross-functionally with Quality, Customer Service, Engineering, and Production personnel to
deliver the best possible customer experience.
This individual must be willing to step in wherever needed including operating equipment,
troubleshooting problems, supporting setups, coaching employees, and removing barriers that prevent
success. Success in this role requires accountability, urgency, curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to
build trust with both hourly employees and leadership.
At Empower Manufacturing, we value leaders who are curious, solutions-focused, team-oriented, and
willing to continuously learn the entire operation rather than remain confined to a single department or
process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead daily production activities with full ownership of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and
communication.
• Drive accountability and follow-through while maintaining a respectful and team-focused culture.
• Work closely with Quality and Customer Service to proactively address issues, communicate status,
and deliver the best possible customer outcomes.
• Support and develop Team Leads and operators through coaching, mentoring, training, and clear
expectations.
• Maintain a visible presence on the production floor and assist hands-on when necessary, including
operating equipment or supporting setups and troubleshooting.
• Identify production bottlenecks, workflow issues, and process improvement opportunities and drive
corrective actions.
• Promote a culture of open communication, teamwork, honesty, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure production schedules and staffing align with operational priorities and customer
commitments.
• Drive adherence to safety, quality, housekeeping, and operational standards.
• Encourage employee growth through cross-training and skill development.

• Use production data, quality metrics, and operational reporting to make informed decisions and
improve performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Manufacturing leadership experience is preferred in a machining or industrial manufacturing
environment.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable.
• Hands-on manufacturing experience preferred, including willingness to work directly in production
when needed.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience working closely with Quality, Scheduling, Customer Service, and Production teams.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Comfortable using production systems, reports, and business software.
• High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or leadership training preferred.
